Natalee’s Song and my co-sponsor, Dr Diane Lebedeff, held a Team Rachel walk on the B&A trail on June 3rd 2011.  Over 100 people attended the walk to support Rachel. Rachel was also able to attend the walk and see the love and support the community had for her and her fight against Leukemia. Natalee and Rachel’s Girl Scout troop also assisted with the event activities.

At the Team Rachel Walkathon we had Be the Match Bone Marrow organization set up a donor registration table.  To get ‘Be the Match’ to attend our walk we had to raise money in advance to pay for the donor registrations.  Each Donor registration costs $100.  Natalee’s Song was able to raise $10,000 for Be the Match.  During the walk we registered over 65 potential donors.

There were Team Rachel Raffle, Registration, and Team Rachel T-shirt and Bracelet sales tables.  The proceeds went into Natalee’s Song and were later used to landscape Rachel’s Pavilion at Severn Lower School in Severn, Maryland, as well as throw the first team Rachel Cheese Party on the oncology floor at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC.

At the turn around point here was a water station with a Support Card for everyone to sign for Rachel.

The day was beautiful.  The support and love was overwhelming and the best port of the day was the Rachel was able to be there with us!

Check out the pics!  See Rachel and I jammin’ !
