Persuasive Speaking Contest 2023

In my senior year at High Point University, the Office of Communications held a persuasive speaking contest. The specifics were to choose a non-profit of your choice and explain how they make an impact. The student body would select the winner and present a donation.

I won! My speech explained how the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) played an invested and intricate role in Rachel's life after her diagnosis. I explained the power of their organization, and despite its size, the encounters with them were detailed. They were present to assist Rachel and her family throughout her journey in a very personal way.

I created a donation page for my speech on the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) website. On behalf of my undergraduate School of Communications, they presented $250 to the LLS organization.

Once the class was completed, I wanted to continue raising donations to this wonderful organization. The fundraising page is dedicated to Rachel and tells her story. Since the website asks for a limit, I set the donation goal limit to $500. I was not expecting to reach that limit, let alone go over it. Currently, we have raised $700.
