Cheese was Rachel’s favorite food. When she was in the hospital, fun parties were held for young patients to relax from their treatments.

To honor Rachel, I decided to host similar parties at the same hospital, Children’s National Medical Center, Washington DC. The events featured cheese-themed games and a photo booth with cheese props.

We served cheese sticks and cheese puffs and played trivia games where kids could win prizes. We also allowed them to decorate packaged cheese sticks.

At the end of the day, we crowned a cheese day king and queen using foam crowns with names drawn from a box.
